Jeg må nødvendigvis anbefale Karl Ludvigsens bog Classic Racing Engines: Expert technical analysis of fifty of the greatest motorsport power plants. Den er velskrevet og grundig og fra tid til anden også ganske morsom, f.eks. beskrives BRMs to forskellige forsøg med 16 cylindrede Formel 1-motorer således: Both carried flaws of design and execution that kept them form developing their projected power and endowned them with a formidable capacity for self-destruction. Ludvigsen når både rundt om Peugeots 16 ventilede motor fra 1913, Auto Unions rivalisering med Mercedes inden Anden Verdenskrig og den legendariske Ford Cosworth DFV, der vandt ikke mindre 12 Formel 1-verdensmesterskaber. Bogen er efter min mening et must-read for alle der interesserer sig for motorsport og teknologi.
